While the nonconference portion of the schedule usually represents one phase, it's fair to hedge a bit on that and say a visit to Colorado on Oct. 4 was almost thrown into the initial breakdown.
That's because the next opponent is Oklahoma, a clash that takes on even more significance with the Sooners ranked No. 1. As for the Longhorns, they did their part to make the game monumental, drilling the Buffaloes 38-14 in Boulder to climb to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the Big 12.
"We'll have everybody in America talking about (the Red River Shootout)," Brown said. "That's what we wanted."
Texas Football is worthy of its place in the conversation.

Sally Brown, 54, was taken to Boulder Community Hospital with a possible broken wrist and cuts to her face after falling on a rocky trail. Texas Football beat Colorado 38-14.
